Guven Dredging Grab
The Guven dredging grab is a heavy, reinforced grab for lifting material from the seabed and riverbed during dredging and harbour deepening. The extra weight helps it bite into packed sediment under water, and it is built in both clamshell and orange peel versions depending on whether the material is fine and dense or coarse and rocky.
This is a new unit from Guven Grab & Machine, a Turkish manufacturer active since 1984 with more than 10,000 grabs delivered to over 120 countries and type approval from BV, RINA, Class NK, LR, ABS and CCS. Capacity runs from 3 m³ to 30 m³ and the build is matched to the crane and the dredging duty.
Suitable materials
Sand, clay, gravel, rock and mixed seabed material. The clamshell version suits fine and dense sediment, while the orange peel version handles coarse and rocky material.
Why a dredging grab
- Reinforced, heavy build bites into packed material under water
- Clamshell and orange peel versions to match the seabed material
- Works on floating, crawler, mobile harbour and rope cranes
