Cargo cranes cover a broad category of lifting equipment used at general cargo terminals, RoRo ports and on board vessels. Unlike container cranes, cargo cranes handle mixed freight: steel coils, timber, project cargo, bulk bags and heavy lifts. They are typically smaller and more versatile than STS or MHC cranes.

Types available

• Harbour cranes — fixed or rail-mounted cranes at general cargo quays. Liebherr CBW series is the most common European type. Capacities typically 15–63 tonnes.
• Ship-mounted deck cranes — installed on general cargo vessels or heavy lift ships. Sold separately when vessels are broken up or converted.
