Guven Radio Remote Control Grab (RRCG)
The Guven radio remote control grab is a wireless clamshell grab built for fast, safe bulk handling with ship cranes and mobile harbour cranes. It opens in the air by remote control and closes on the ground as the crane lifts, using a "zero shock opening system" that avoids shock loads on the crane. Because it carries its own battery and central hydraulic cylinder, it needs no generator, no power cable and no cable drum: connect it to the crane hook and it is ready to work.
This is a new unit built by Guven Grab & Machine, a Turkish manufacturer that has delivered more than 10,000 grabs to over 120 countries since 1984. The grabs carry type approval from the major class societies BV, RINA, Class NK, LR, ABS and CCS. Volumetric capacity runs from 3 m³ up to 60 m³, and each grab can be fine-tuned with kick plates to match the bulk density of the cargo. A single rechargeable battery set gives up to 400 hours of continuous work, with a heavy-duty remote that operates at up to 100 metres.
Suitable bulk materials
Grains, fertilizers, plastics, cement, clinker, coal, pebbles, gravel, sand and metal ores with a bulk density up to 2.5 t/m³. It is not intended for heavy solid materials such as iron pellets (HBI). Custom shell shapes and capacities can be manufactured for specific cargo or crane requirements.
Why a radio remote control grab
