A container spreader is the lifting attachment, a key piece of port equipment, used by cranes and reach stackers to pick up ISO containers. The spreader locks into the four corner castings of a container using twistlocks and hydraulic pins, allowing the crane or vehicle to lift the full weight of the container safely.
